We love helping fans enjoy high school sports.
Who is SaddleRock Sports Network?
The SaddleRock Sports Network is truly a network of student-run broadcast production teams, where students fill the roles producers, engineers, camera operators, announcers, and entrepreneurs to providing quality sports broadcasts for their communities.
How SRSN Started
In response to the pandemic-inspired ban on spectators for indoor high school sports in Colorado, the IT department of the Branson School began live-streaming basketball games on YouTube in January 2021. Game by game, the Branson broadcast team improved each broadcast to enhance the viewers’ experience, finally resulting in live streamed broadcasts with live scoreboards, play-by-play announcers, color commentary, and in-game stats and rosters displayed on screen. The Branson broadcast team received dozens and dozens of appreciative comments from viewers in their community and their opponents’ communities, citing that many home-bound, elderly, working, or traveling family members could easily watch their children and grandchildren’s games on their phone, computer, or smart TV.
SaddleRock Sports Network was launched as these 5 light bulbs lit up at the same time:
-
- The Branson broadcasts provided a much needed service for a growing community of viewers, especially home-bound fans and fans that could not drive the long distance to many small town games.
- The quality of the Branson broadcasts surpassed the quality of automated live stream broadcasts.
- No other schools in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico were doing similar live broadcasts with announcers.
- Students really enjoy creating digital content!
- There is tremendous long-term revenue potential for schools and entrepreneurs in this space.
The Network’s Founders
